The Susanville Symphony Society kicked off their performance season with a special concert on the lawn at the historic courthouse on Lassen Street Saturday evening. The concert on the green signified the beginning of another stellar year planned for the symphony with four more performances scheduled between now and May of 2017.
Symphony fans and music lovers flocked to the courthouse with picnic baskets, folding chairs and tables for this spectacular outdoor event which featured music from Holst: The Planets, John Williams Star Wars, Bizet’s Carmen and concluded with a special rock performance featuring Thomas Braun and Hunter Skillen on guitar.
“The outdoor concert at the old courthouse is one-of-a-kind,” says Symphony Artistic Director Ben Wade.
