As the summer season winds down Lassen National Forest’s Hat Creek District is reducing open hours to its Old Station Visitor Information Center. Starting Monday, September 19th, the Center will be open only on Saturdays and Sundays from 9:30a.m. to 4:00p.m.
Located on Highway 89 just south of Highways 44, the Visitor Center is within walking distance of Hat Creek and offers excellent access for fishing as well as an accessible picnic area and vault toilets.
The District’s campgrounds are making preparations to close for the season:
- Big Pine Campground will remain open through Monday, October 3rd.
- The Bridge, Cave, Hat Creek, Hat Creek Group, Honn, and Rocky Campgrounds will remain open through Monday, October 10th.
- The Old Station RV sanitary dump station will close for the season on Monday, October 10th.
All campgrounds are expected to reopen by the end of April 2017 for the start of fishing season.
