Have Fun Honoring Hometown Heroes: Help Support Pennies for the Pool!

Looking for something fun to do today that helps support a great cause? Susanville Supermarket IGA will be throwing their big annual Hometown Fest party and everyone is invited.

Quickly becoming a summertime tradition, the Hometown Fest has grown by leaps and bounds each year, with more and more Susanville folks stopping by the Susanville Supermarket parking lot on Main Street to join in the fun.

This year funds raised at the Hometown Fest, along with money the supermarket has collected over the summer, will be donated to ‘Pennies for the Pool,’ an initiative started to help build a community pool for Susanville. At last year’s event IGA raised over $1,700 dollars for the Wounded Warrior project, this year they hope to exceed that to help ‘Pennies for the Pool.’

In addition to helping out a good cause, you can come on down to the parking lot and have a lot of fun! The event features a ‘bounce house’ and pony rides for the kids, mural painting, strolling characters like Smokey Bear and Dandy the Smokeless Dragon.

Hometown Fest starts this morning at 10:00 in the parking lot at IGA and ends at 1:00p.m.
