The 2015 edition of the Historic Uptown Susanville Association’s big Safe and Sane Halloween event was a huge success – drawing a crowd of trick-or-treaters to the party on Susanville’s Main Street for candy, live entertainment, costume contests and coffin races. The annual event, which is co-sponsored by the City of Susanville, is designed to give Susanville kids a safe place to trick or treat.
Local businesses, civic groups, government agencies and organizations built and raced homemade coffins through uptown. The number of entries nearly doubled over last year and this looks to become a very popular annual contest.
