The National Weather Service has issued a Special Weather Statement in effect until 6:00p.m. Sunday.
A band of snow showers will continue to move through the region late this afternoon and evening with snow levels near valley floors.
Snowfall accumulations are going to be limited to elevations above 4,500 feet and mainly north of I-80 through early this evening where up to an inch of accumulation is possible.
The southern end of the band is moving quickly and the duration of snowfall will be much less south of I-80.
While most roadways may remain wet, travel over area passes may become slick this evening as temperatures cool to near freezing.
