Are you looking for a position with Cal-Fire? If so, the 2020 Lassen Community College Cal-Fire Basic Academy can be the first step in your firefighting career.
Obtaining a Cal-Fire Basic Certification at Lassen makes you eligible for hiring by the state agency.
The two academy classes being offered are FS-60 Wildland Firefighter and FS-98.21 Volunteer Firefighter which will be held September 1st, thru December 12th, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays from 6:00 to 8:50p.m., and Saturday October 3rd, December 5th and December 12th from 8:00 to 5:00p.m.

The last day to enroll is August 21st.
The following courses are Pre-Requisites for taking the Cal-Fire Basic Academy Classes and can be taken with core academy classes. Cal Fire Basic certification will be awarded upon successful completion of all courses:
FS-61 Basic Fire Fighter (Basic 32) or equivalent NWCG ICS-100, IS-700, L-180, S-130 ands S-190
FS-59 Confined Space Awareness
FS-72 HazMat First Responder Operations
FS-80 Firefighter Survival
FS-81 Wildland Firefighter Survival
FS-20 First Aid and CPR for Public Safety Employees
IS-800C National Response Framework: An Introduction
FS-51 Introduction to Fire Technology Careers
