Monday, May 8
Lassen County Arts Council will be hosting an Artist Reception at 5:30 p.m., at the Gallery 807 Cottage Street.

Tuesday, May 9
Lassen County Arts Council will be holding a Youth Drawing Class with instructor Corey O’Brien. The course will be each Tuesday from March 7th to May 16th and will be from 2:30 – 4:00 p.m., at the Gallery at 807 Cottage Street. The cost for the course is $75.00.

Lassen Lit Rocks holds free adult reading classes every Tuesday and Thursday from 4:30 – 6:00 p.m. Tuesday’s classes are held at the Lassen Library and Thursday’s classes are held at Shaffer School. For more information please call the library at 530-257-7471.

Lassen Family Services Parenting Group 3:00 – 4:00pm at Lassen Family Services, 1306 Riverside Dr. Parenting Group classes are designed to help reduce chaos and power struggles within families. Learn an approach to parenting that is both simple and effective. All classes are free but space is limited. Please contact Heather at 530-257-4599 for more information.

Lassen Ale Works at the Pioneer Saloon live music: Gordon Mayer Band from 6:00 – 8:00p.m. This acoustic rock quartet is known for its distinctive versions of cover tunes from artists like David Bowie, U2, and Sheryl Crow, along with a mix of original songs. Mark Strohmaier plays guitar and sings.  Percussionist Tom Ready drums, shakes things, and adds background vocals.  Greg Dood handles bass guitar, guitar, and vocals.  And, Terri Dood provides vocals and percussion.  Together, they are The Gordon Mayer Band. As always, no cover.

Lassen County Arts Council will be holding a Community Service Art Class with instructor Michael Giampaoli. The course will be each Wednesday from March 1 to May 17th and will be from 1:30 – 4:30 p.m., at the Gallery at 807 Cottage Street. The cost for the semester is $75.00.

Knights of Columbus Wednesday Night Bingo. 5:30 – 7:30p.m., dinner, 6:30 pm early bird bingo, 7:00p.m., regular bingo games. Lassen County Arts Council will be holding an Opening Reception featuring Lassen Community College Students. The Lassen College Student Art show represents a breadth of artwork from a plethora of courses available at LCC. The subjects include: Digital Photography, 3-D Modeling and Animation, Digital Art, Printmaking, Drawing, Painting, Ceramics, and Jewelry Design. The student art examples were created during the 2016-2017 school year. The event will be from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m., at the Gallery 807 Cottage Street.

Lassen Land and Trails Trust 23rd Paiute Meadows Trail Run. Times are as follows. The 50k will begin at 7:00 a.m., ½ marathon starts at 7:30 a.m., 1 mile free run for kids will start at 8:00 a.m., and the 4.5 miler will begin at 8:30 a.m. Registration is on-line at https://ultrasignup.com/register.aspx?did=39753 . California Baptist University Women’s Choir will be performing in Susanville twice over Mother’s Day weekend.  The first event is at Susanville Assembly of God on Richmond Road Saturday May 13 at 6:00 pm.  They will also be in the Sunday morning service on Mother’s Day, May 14 at the 10:30 AM service at Susanville Church of the Nazarene on Spring Ridge Drive.  There is no charge for either event but an offering will be received.
