Monday, September 11
Susanville City Fire Chief James Moore is inviting the public to join the department in a commemoration of the firefighters, paramedics, police officers and other innocent victims whose lives were ended by the tragic terrorist attack of September 11th, 2001. The Susanville Fire Department is joining with remembrances being held all across the country Monday morning. The observance will begin at 6:30a.m. on the lawn at the fire hall at 1505 Main Street.

Just before 7:00 the group will assemble in front of the flagpole, the Honor Guard will present the colors and there will be a moment of silence and a prayer. The ceremony will begin promptly at 7:05a.m.

Tuesday, September 12
SCORE Seminar Start-Up Basics Sponsored by SCORE, Lassen County Chamber of Commerce and Plumas Bank. This Seminar will give an overview of how to create a startup business. The seminar will be from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. downstairs at Plumas Bank. This is a free event.

Wednesday, September 13

Knights of Columbus Wednesday Night Bingo. 5:30 – 7:30 p.m., dinner, 6:30 pm early bird bingo, 7:00 p.m., regular bingo games. Lassen Lit Rocks holds free adult reading classes every Tuesday and Thursday from 4:30 – 6:00 p.m. Tuesday’s classes are held at the Lassen Library and Thursday’s classes are held at Shaffer School. For more information please call the library at 530-257-7471.

Thursday, September 14
Westwood Bingo is every Thursday night at 125 Birch St., in Westwood. $10 per ten pack of cards, $1 Quickie games and $1 Early Bird Game.

The Lassen County Chamber of Commerce Mixer will from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m., at Artisan Coffee 464-440 Church St., Janesville. This mixer is co-hosted by Artisan Coffee, Steve’s Pumps and Pizza Factory.

Friday, September 15
Lassen Family Services Parenting Group 9:30 – 10:30 pm at Lassen Family Services, 1306 Riverside Dr. Parenting Group classes are designed to help reduce chaos and power struggles within families. Learn an approach to parenting that is both simple and effective. All classes are free but space is limited. Please contact Heather at 530-257-4599 for more information.

Masonic Lodge #149 host their 3rd Saturday Breakfast from 8:00 – 11:00 AM. The cost is $6.00 and it’s held at the Susanville Masonic Hall on Lassen Street (Across the street from the Post Office) the 3rd Saturday of every month.

Blue Star Cougar Challenge. This event starts at 9:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Susanville Ranch Park. All proceeds will go to Soaring Eagles Blue Star Moms and the Angel Bike program. The Angel Bike program provides hand bikes to veterans who are unable to use their legs. Every bike is custom made for the veteran who will own and use it. Saturday, September 16
Centennial Courthouse Celebration. Tours of the historic courthouse will begin at noon and will run every 20 minutes. A tour of the cemetery will be from 1:30-2:30pm. Susanville Symphony Concert on the Green will begin at 5:00pm at the old courthouse, 220 South Lassen St.  Tours are free, Symphony tickets are $22 General and $30 Premium. Tickets can be purchased at Axia Home Loans, Margie’s Book Nook and at the event.
