The Chamber board will meet on Thursday, February 13, for the monthly board meeting that will begin at noon, at Diamond Mountain Casino in the hotel conference room. The board encourages public attendance and comment; if you would like to address the board please contact the office staff prior to the board meeting so that you can be added to the agenda.
At the January board retreat the board reviewed last year’s events and formed event committees for 2014. The following is a list of the events and the event chairperson; Main Street Cruise Classic Car & Motorcycle Show- n- Shine, Chairperson-Jessika Johnson; Lassen Co. Fair Parade- office staff; Magical Country Christmas Celebration, Chairperson-Julie Brown; Government/ Business Affairs Committee, Chairperson-Gary Felt; Shop Local Committee, Chairperson-Margaret Liddiard; and Spring Home, Garden, & Outdoor Recreation Show, Chairperson-Susan Ward.
You do not need to be on the board to serve on committees; we encourage and welcome your participation. If you are interested in serving on any of the above committees please contact the Chamber staff at 257-4323.
The board also elected Richard Parker to serve as board Treasurer, to fill the vacancy left by the Jeff Trump who relocated out of the area.
The Chamber has partnered with Spring Hill Press to produce an updated Lassen County area map. Chamber members are given the first opportunity to advertise. Spring Hill Press representatives will be contacting members to discuss various ad sizes and prices available. In addition, a link will be added to the Chamber website with an online map that will display your advertising, contact information, link to your website, and business location on the map. Contact the Chamber office at 257-4323 if you have any questions regarding the map project.
The Chamber office has tickets available for the Susanville Elk’s Annual Crab Feed. The event will be held on Friday, February 28th and Saturday, March 1st. The crab feed will begin at 6pm each night with a no-host cocktail social hour, dinner will begin at 7pm. The menu will include crab, prawns, clam chowder, toss salad, and garlic bread.
