Showcase your business or organizations at this year’s Lassen County Fair Parade and help make this the best parade ever! The Chamber will again be coordinating the Annual Lassen County Fair Parade that will be held on Saturday, July 23rd, beginning at 10am sharp. Parade check-in will begin at 9am the morning of the parade in front of the Uptown post office, which is located across from the Masonic Hall, 84 North Lassen Street; at that time parade entrants will receive their parade number and line-up location.
Parade featured entries will include the 2016 Miss Lassen County and Court, the Grand Marshall, Little Mr. and Miss Lassen County, and the 2016 Old Timers of the Year, many local clubs and businesses will also be included. You won’t want to miss this time honored tradition!
The Annual Fair Parade Breakfast will be served Saturday morning of the parade, beginning at 7am in the Masonic Hall. The breakfast menu will feature pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs, coffee, juice and milk.
It’s fair week with many fun events to attend. Among the many fair activities not to be missed is the Sunday morning Junior Livestock Auction that will begin at 9am. The Lassen County Cattlemen will sponsor a ‘Good Morning Social Hour’ for all buyers beginning at 8:30am and the buyer registration volunteers will be available to sign buyers in and answer questions regarding the sale.
The sale features animals raised by local 4-H and FFA members who will conclude their animal projects at this sale. This is learning and business venture for these young men and women and this is their marketplace to showcase the final product. Your purchase of a market animal will support a youngster who is in the agriculture business on a small scale and says ‘well done’ to a young person who has spent months preparing, feeding, and caring for their market project.
The Historic Uptown Susanville Association is raising funds to make much needed upgrades, improvements, and repairs to Pancera Plaza. The “Buy A Brick” program will help fund some of the improvements that are planned including adding lighting, electrical, and water sources throughout the plaza as well as upgrading the walkways and street. The custom bricks will be placed in the Plaza to complete the original brick program started in the 1990’s. A 4’x’8” brick can be purchased to commemorate a loved one, special event, business or club. Order forms, to purchase a brick, can be downloaded from our website lassencountychamber.org or call us at 257-4323 to have one forwarded to you. Bricks will begin to be added to the plaza by late summer. Become a part of Historic Uptown Susanville by purchasing a brick. For more information, contact David at 257-2392.
