Lassen Family Services Announces Hiring of New Director

lfsnewdirectorLassen Family Services announced on Friday that as of September 14th, Becky Brewster has assumed the role of Executive Director of the agency. LFS is the county’s only crisis intervention center providing completely free services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, child and elder abuse and neglect.

According to a press release issued by LFS Brewster comes with 20 years of social services and community service experience in Plumas and Lassen counties. Professionally, she has worked in the areas of child abuse, elder and dependent adult services, and behavioral health. She has served the community in youth mentoring, developing community partnerships, event planning, and fundraising.

Prior to accepting the position, she was assisting Lassen County Child and Family Services with preparation of their County Self-Assessment, Federal Case Reviews and Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement.

“I’m honored and thankful to the board of directors for giving me the opportunity to give back to the community and furthering the important work that Lassen Family Services has been doing for more than 36 years,” said Brewster. “I look forward to working with the board and staff of Lassen Family Services, local social services agencies, and our community partners as we continue providing education, facilitating positive changes in families through the amazing programs and services offered through Lassen Family Services.”

Her first duty as Executive Director has been to complete the two-week Crisis Intervention Peer Counselor training, receiving her certification as a Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Peer Counselor.
