Lassen Municipal Utility District Announces Departure of General Manager

On Wednesday, Lassen Municipal Utility District announced that General Manager Robby Hamlin will step down from the position effective December 4th. According to LMUD Public Relations Manager Theresa Phillips, Hamlin informed the LMUD Board of Directors of his decision during a closed-session meeting on Tuesday, October 1st.

“Hamlin, who assumed the role of General Manager in January 2024, has been instrumental in developing forward-looking strategies for the district, including initiatives for rate stabilization, financial metrics improvement, and power procurement optimization,” said Phillips.

“Robby brought a wealth of experience to the GM position. His expertise and leadership have been invaluable to LMUD. He is highly respected and well-liked by both the board of directors and the LMUD staff. We are saddened to see him go but wish him the best in the next phase of his career,ā€ said Daren Hagata, LMUD Board President, expressing the board’s sentiments.

Hamlin commented, “My time with LMUD has been incredibly rewarding. The dedication of our staff and the support of the community have been outstanding. I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished together.” He added, “I am committed to ensuring a smooth transition for my successor in the coming weeks. LMUD’s mission is vital to our community, and I’m confident that the strong foundation we’ve built will continue to serve the district well into the future.”

According to Phillips the LMUD Board of Directors will soon begin the process of selecting a new General Manager. Details regarding the search and selection process will be announced in the coming weeks.
