The Lassen Municipal Utility District Board of Directors has awarded the 2013 Utility Industry Scholarship, naming Lassen High senior Kimberly Wilder as the recipient of a $1,500 scholarship.
The inaugural award was presented by LMUD Board President Bud Bowden at the Tuesday, May 28th, board meeting. Wilder’s parents, Beth and Gene Wilder, also attended the meeting for the scholarship presentation.
President Bowden expressed congratulations to Wilder, saying that the entire Board was ‘proud to be part of her continuing success’ and wished her well in her future endeavors.
According to LMUD Energy Services Manager Theresa Phillips the scholarship program is new to LMUD and Wilder is the first person to receive the $1,500 award.
After graduating from Lassen High Wilder plans on attending the University of Nevada at Reno to pursue an engineering degree.
