The Lassen National Forest has announced that Robin Wall will be the new permanent Hat Creek District Ranger.
She comes to the LNF from the Amador Ranger District on Eldorado National Forest where she has been the Collaborative Forest Landscape Restoration Program Coordinator since 2015.
Wall has already served the forests in other leadership roles. Most recently, she served as the Acting District Ranger on the Mark Twain National Forest in Missouri. She has also served as the Acting Resource Officer on the Eldorado National Forest.
“Wall brings to the LNF many years of combined state and federal experience in agriculture protection and resource management through positions of progressive responsibility,” said Deb Bumpus, LNF Forest Supervisor.
“Wall has an excellent background in working collaboratively with partners and multiple agencies and will be a significant benefit to the Hat Creek Ranger District employees.”
Wall has lived and worked in California for many years. She began her agriculture career in Sacramento as a Student Assistant with the California Department of Food and Agriculture in 1994. She worked as a Scientific Aide and after graduation, as an Agricultural Biologist on several long-term invasive pest projects.
In 2002, Wall worked with the United States Department of Agriculture at the Plant Protection and Quarantine for the Port of Oakland. As a PPQ Officer, it called for her to enforce agriculture regulations on various forms of foreign pathways including maritime, air passenger, military aircraft, and international mail.
Wall was transferred from USDA to U.S. Customs and Border Protection during the creation of the Department of Homeland Security in 2003. This provided the opportunity to serve as a Supervisory Agriculture Specialist working in the ports of San Francisco, California, and Champlain, New York. For over a year, she had the privilege to work as the first Agriculture Specialist at a foreign preclearance port in Shannon, Ireland.
In 2010, she returned to California to serve as the first California Agriculture Liaison with U.S. Customs and Border Protection where she worked in the USDA State Plant Health Director’s Office in Sacramento.

Wall is a U.S. Air Force veteran and earned both Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Biological Sciences at California State University, Sacramento.
