Lassen United F.C. Soccer competed in the U-15 Division during the Nevada Cup on September 28th and 29th, battling against 154 teams from forty-five clubs, representing northern Nevada, southern Nevada, northern California, Idaho and Oregon.
Lassen United F.C. is comprised of local female players from ages 11 to 14 years old, making it the youngest team in the U-15 Division.
The team ended up losing in the Semi-Final to South Tahoe F.C. who went on to become the Nevada Cup Champions.
According to Coach Estrada, the coaches from South Tahoe F.C. said that Lassen United F.C. was one of the toughest teams they had faced because of their desire to keep fighting on the field.
“And your Goal Keeper (Kayle Estrada) is a beast,” they added, “definitely one of the best Keepers they have ever faced with beautiful saves and great kicks!”
Lassen United F.C., coached by Estrada and Danny Matchniff, finished the tournament in 4th place overall.
