LCC Launches New Program Helping Foster Youth in Higher Education

Lassen College has launched a new program called NextUP, which is specifically designed for the college’s current and former foster youth, and ward of the court students, to help navigate the path to higher education.

Whether the goal is to transfer to a 4-year university or to transition into the workforce, LCC offers a variety of services such as assistance with books, supplies, transportation, food and housing.

Additionally, the college can offer one-on-one assistance to ensure that the student is on the correct path with their education and navigating the admissions process.

The only requirements are that the student has to have been in care on or after one’s 13th birthday, be younger than twenty-six, and are enrolled in nine units, or plan to enroll in nine units.

Please contact Susie Rentfrow at [email protected] or at 1.530.257.6181 x8955 to discuss your eligibility.
