Local letter carriers delivered more than a 1,000 pounds of food to the Susanville Salvation Army this week, the results of their Stamp Out Hunger collection drive.

Mail men and women picked-up food that Lassen County residents donated and left near their mailboxes last Saturday.

“Thank you Lassen County residents and postal carriers. Our volunteers are now busy sorting and stocking,” said Susanville Salvation Army coordinator Juanita Williams. “We cannot tell you how thankful we are for all of you!”

More than 1,000 pounds of food donated by local residents awaits sorting and stocking at the Salvation Army's office.
