Lassen High graduate and Susanville standout Ginger Miller announced Monday that she has been accepted to participate in the USDA’s Agriculture Outlook Forum Student Diversity Program later this month in Arlington, Virginia.
Miller is part of a select group, one of only 30 participants from across the country, chosen from agriculture, agricultural business, agricultural economics, communications, nutrition and food science or pre-veterinary junior or senior and graduate students.
“[We] are going to be able to directly interact with leaders and staff within the USDA,” explains Miller, “as well as the sponsors of the student program which include Farm Credit, CHS Foundation, various USDA services and the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.”
Miller, who currently attends University of Nevada Reno, said discussion at the Agriculture Outlook Forum will center around significant trends, as well as research and policies that affect the agriculture world today.
“Agriculture awareness is vital in our community,” said Miller. “I will try and represent Lassen County, Northern California, and University of Nevada, Reno in the best way possible.”
