Lassen Boxer Wins Meet

Leonard Lowry, graduate of Lassen High school in 1938, proved his ability as one of the ranking middleweight amateur fighters on the Pacific coast by annexing the middleweight title at a Golden Gloves tournament held recently in Seattle.
By virtue of his win in the middleweight division in Seattle, Lowry won the right to compete in the Los Angeles Golden Gloves tournament which starts today.
He will compete against division winners from the San Francisco tournament for the right to represent the Pacific cost in national Golden Gloves tourney which will probably be held in Chicago later, in the year.
