LMUD Presents: This Day in Susanville History – February 14th, 1941

Joint Session Held at Lassen
February 14, 1941

A joint meeting of the Susanville elementary school PTA, Lassen junior college and high school PTA observing Founder’s Day was held at the assembly room at the high school Thursday evening.

Mrs. Blanche Flagg, high school president, and Mrs. Rhoda Paulsen, Elementary school president, presided jointly. Following the business meeting Mrs. Mildred Hill presided as program chairman.

The Candle lighting ceremony, written and directed by Mrs. Ameha Mitchell, was most impressive. Mesdames Belle Hiles, Lester Davie, and L. K. Chester, all dressed in white, portrayed the cast. Music was furnished by Mrs. Carl Cox t the piano, Mrs. Marc Edmonds, the violin, and Mrs. C. W. Morrill, soloist.

G. A. Collyer auctioneer, aroused such interest in the birthday cake that it sold for over eighteen dollars.

Past presidents were introduced and presented with corsages.
