Chairman Named of Supervisors
January 6, 1943
Now service his sixth term as a member of the supervisors from Big Valley District No. 4, Peter Gerig was elected chairman of the board at the first meeting of 1943, this week succeeding W. J. Tunsion of District No. 1 of Westwood.
Supervisor J. L. Godman explained that 22 years ago, the board adopted the rule of rotating the chairmanship, so that all districts would be represented in that position. He complimented Tunison on his record of service as chairman of the board the past year.
At the meeting, the board renamed all appointees, who have served the past year, drew 225 names of voters to serve as trial jurors in 1943, and changed two ordinances, which through state legislation have become void.
