Susanville Reports Shoplifters Active
November 16, 1930

Shoplifters became active here during the past week, it became known today when a number of merchants reported the loss of merchandise from their counters.

Two men thought to have been “working” this community went into a local store yesterday and, while one tried on a pair of shoes, the other stole merchandise from counters in the front part of the establishment.

This rash of thievery follows several commercial burglaries in the Milwood district which have left local merchants on edge.

On Tuesday a second-story man gained entry into a pharmacy through an upper window and removed from the premises cash, merchandise and narcotics.
