To Sink Shaft on Diamond Mt.
September 19, 1938

Developing and exploring of mineralized ledges located near Diamond Mountain, five miles south of Susanville, is being promoted by the Susanville Mining Company, formerly known as the Believe It or Not mine.

R. L. Chester, manager, has announced that a one-hundred-foot shaft will be sunk to crosscut three veins which show on the surface, followed by drifting in both directions on the veins.

W. D. Whitsett, superintendent, will be in charge of the operations. F. M. Shaw, geologist and mill operator, will check the work.
Buildings from the abandoned Copper City mine, located on the Reno-Susanville highway near the state line, have been purchased, will be moved to the mill site and rebuilt.

A. Snell, Mark Dolliver of Tacoma, Reoger Stewart of Seattle, Washington, and John Holmes of Susanville with others are interested in the4 company.

Work at the location is progressing.
