This week the Lassen County Farm Bureau, in partnership with the Lassen County Cattlemen and Cattlewomen’s organizations, made a generous contribution to the safety of Lassen County residents with the gift of two new drones for the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office.
The new drones are smaller than the old ones in use by the Sheriff’s Office and Sergeant Tim Hefley, one of the agency’s two experienced drone pilots, explained that there are several advantages to using drones that can fit in confined areas or fly through small accessways like windows or crawlspaces.
One of the purposes of the Farm Bureau, according to Executive Director Naomi Turner, is to protect and promote agricultural interests throughout the county, which was the impetus behind the donation of the new drones.
