Local Food Locker Making Difference for Lassen County Veterans

veteransfoodlocker620A local organization, with the singular goal of making sure that every Lassen County Veteran can eat, every single day, at least once, is devoting a great deal of effort and can use your help. The Lassen County Veteran’s Food Locker was established to advocate for the hungry, needy and politically under-represented members of the community who served honorably in the United States Armed Forces.

The food locker, according to organizers, is “dedicated to helping each and every Veteran in our County, try to rise above poverty, with a little help from their brothers and sisters. We are a vocal advocate for the hungry.”

If you would like to receive help from the  food locker, or if you know somebody who could benefit from the services, you can contact the nice folks at help@lcvfoodlocker.

To be eligible for the program veterans must show:

  • Proof of income
  • Lassen County Veterans ID card (provided at no cost)
  • Proof of honorable service

You can help by contributing non-perishable food items or by volunteering your time.
