Local Law Enforcement Agencies Help Raise More Than $2,100 Ringing Red Kettle Bells

Susanville PD Youth Services Officer Victoria Estrada and Police Chief Jim Uptegrove rang the bell Tuesday in front of Susanville Supermarket IGA as part of a multi-agency effort to raise money for the Salvation Army.

Members of Susanville’s law enforcement community hit the streets to raise money for the Salvation Army Tuesday, filling the red kettles with more than $2,100 as they rang the bell around town. There was also quite a bit of dancing and singing going on throughout the day!

All together theĀ Susanville Police Department, Susanville Office of the California Highway Patrol and California Correctional Center raised $2,142.86.

That total, combined with other red kettle locations in Susanville,Ā made for the Salvation Army’s largest day of the year withĀ $2,663.

Who won in the law enforcement battle of the kettles? According to the folks at the Salvation Army it wasĀ an interesting split. CHP raised the most with $1,076, however, theĀ Police DepartmentĀ beat them per hour with a total of $804.46 for 5.5 hours while CHP rang for 8.

All funds raised will enableĀ Salvation ArmyĀ to provide emergency assistance as well as our youth programs right here in Lassen County.
