Members of Susanville’s law enforcement community hit the streets to raise money for the Salvation Army Tuesday, filling the red kettles with more than $2,100 as they rang the bell around town. There was also quite a bit of dancing and singing going on throughout the day!
All together theĀ Susanville Police Department, Susanville Office of the California Highway Patrol and California Correctional Center raised $2,142.86.
That total, combined with other red kettle locations in Susanville,Ā made for the Salvation Army’s largest day of the year withĀ $2,663.
Who won in the law enforcement battle of the kettles? According to the folks at the Salvation Army it wasĀ an interesting split. CHP raised the most with $1,076, however, theĀ Police DepartmentĀ beat them per hour with a total of $804.46 for 5.5 hours while CHP rang for 8.
All funds raised will enableĀ Salvation ArmyĀ to provide emergency assistance as well as our youth programs right here in Lassen County.
