Lots of Fun Stuff to Do at This Year’s Paul Bunyan Festival in Westwood

The Westwood Area Chamber of Commerce’s big, annual Paul Bunyan Mountain and Blues Festival takes place this weekend, featuring live music, a logging show, a parade, a fun-run and much, much more!

The weekend begins with a downtown street dance Friday evening featuring the band Timeless. The dance is free and starts at 8:00p.m. in front of the railroad depot.

Saturday’s fun activities include Breakfast by the WHS ASB Clubs at 8:00a.m. in the Community Center, a Fun Run at 8:00 and the parade, which begins at 10:30a.m. at 3rd and Ash streets.

This year the Chamber is inviting all past and present Westwood educators to join the parade as Grand Marshals. This includes teachers, aides, custodians, kitchen and office staff. For more information call the chamber office at 1.530.256.2456.

Festival gates open at 11:00a.m. in Westwood Park, Greenwood and 2nd streets, and will feature a logging show, antiques, crafts, collectibles, a kid’s area, games, and Blue Ox Bingo. Gate entry is $5 for all ages and the children’s area is not included in admission prices.

There will also be Pickle Ball on the tennis courts and food booths and more.

Two bands will be providing some awesome blues music for the afternoon: Rowland and Tumblin’ from 12:00 until 2:00 and Second Hand Smoke from 2:00 to 4:00.
