Volunteering in your local community is a noble, rewarding act and fans of Lassen County’s trails, scenic vistas and diverse wildlife can truly make a difference by volunteering for Lassen Land and Trails Trust. The organization, which relies heavily on dedicated and hardworking volunteers, strives to keep outdoor recreation and preservation on the forefront.
On Saturday, April 20th, from 5:00 to 7:00p.m. Lassen Land and Trails Trust will be hosting a Volunteer Roundup to celebrate and recognize it’s volunteers and to welcome any newcomers who are interested in volunteering for trail management, habitat restoration or helping with the Farmers’ Market or the Rails to Trails Festival.
The Volunteer Round-up, at the Trust’s offices in the historic Susanville railroad depot, will feature networking, refreshments, including wine, beer or soda, and no reservations are needed.
“Simply come on by and meet some of the best volunteers in the world and then learn how you can join them on the trail, in the field or at community programs,” said Louise Jensen, LL&TT’s Director.
Lassen Land and Trails Trust, a non-profit member supported organization, actively works to conserve significant natural areas and working landscapes and to promote and enhance a system of leading public trails in northeastern California—where the Sierra Nevada, Cascade, Modoc Plateau and the Great Basin converge, a unique region rich in agricultural heritage, wildlife and scenic vistas.
