Beef Project Highlight – Maddi Johnson
Cotton candy, clowns, and merry go rounds – it’s fair time! Hi, I’m Maddi Johnson and I’m sixteen years old. I’m a member of both Milford 4-H and Susanville FFA. At the beginning of my steer project in September 2022 my steer had the worst runny nose – hence his name “Boogie.” Boogie and I have traveled most of Northern California and all the way to Idaho this year. He is my favorite animal to compete in showmanship with. I recently traveled to Belton, TX to help other cattle exhibitors get their animals ready for show. I work hard to bring new skills back to Lassen County to help kids in the beef project.
I am going to be a third-year welding student at Lassen High School and am dual enrolled in Lassen Community College for my Associate Degree in Welding Technology.
Please join us on Sunday July 23rd in the Lassen County Fair Livestock Pavilion for the Junior Livestock Auction. Registration starts at 7:30 am and the auction starts around 8:30 am.
