A Chester man who had been reported missing by family was located by a CHP Officer searching Forest Service roads in the area of Silver Lake in western Lassen County Tuesday, according to details provided by the Susanville office of the California Highway Patrol.
The missing man had been cutting wood in the Domingo Springs area of Plumas County on Monday and did not return to Chester that night.
According to the CHP report, the officer decided to search the Forest Service roads in the area that the unidentified man had been woodcutting, and was checking the Silver Lake road when he located him about 2-miles from County Road A-21.
The woodcutter explained that he had slid off of the road the night before near Silver Lake and had taken shelter there before attempting to walk out of the woods the following morning.
The missing man was transported to Chester where he was reunited with his family.
