Mission Madness for Richmond School 4th Graders

A SusanvilleStuff Feature
by Dede Heimbigner

Richmond School 4th Graders participated in the 5th Annual Mission Madness on Tuesday, May 28th.

The students who had received passing grades on their written reports were put into teams of 4-5 students and given one week to bring in any supplies they could think of to construct a replica of an assigned California Mission in a three hour period during the school day.

Students were not allowed to construct any part of their mission ahead of time or receive adult help on their projects, with the exception of a spray painting and cutting station.

The missions once completed were voted on by the entire school and the winners received a trip out to lunch with their teacher, Mrs. Heimbigner. The missions will be on display at the Lassen County Fair this summer.
