Native Daughters Donating New Flag to Richmond School

ndgwThe Native Daughters of the Golden West, Nataqua Parlor #152, will present Richmond School with new flags Tuesday in a small ceremony marking the 164th anniversary of California’s admission as the 31st state, on September 9th, 1850.

The Native Daughters of the Golden West is a non-profit, charitable organization that promotes our heritage through their California Mission restoration, California Lighthouse restoration, genealogical research into our pioneer families, Children’s Foundation and support of the local community.

They annually present new flags to a local group or institution, last year Meadow View Elementary was the recipient of the NDGW flag on California Admission Day.

The public is welcome at this event marking California’s birthday, September 9th, at 9:45a.m., in front of Richmond School on Richmond Road.

Annual Yard Sale Planned

The Native Daughters of the Golden West will be holding their annual yard sale on September 27th, from 9:00a.m. until 3:00p.m. at A&H Mini Storage, 472-340 Sharpe Lane, off of Richmond Road.

All proceeds will be used to support NDGW projects including local historical preservation and educational efforts, the NDGW Children’s Foundation which helps provide medical services for children in need, local educational scholarships, preservation and restoration of California’s historic missions and lighthouses, and research into early pioneer families through their Pioneer Registry.
