Walking past Joanie and Frankie’s Cupcakes uptown Susanville it’s hard not to stare through the window at there decadent cupcakes and long for a mouth-watering dreamcicle cupcake. Open for business just a few weeks Carol Ingram and Kristie Hoelzle are busy and happy to have made their dream a reality
“It was something I always wanted to do and I wanted to provide something homemade and fresh,” said Ingram.
Ingram used to work at Richmond school as the cook and says she has always enjoyed baking. Ingram and Hoelzle worked together at North Eastern Rural Health together and say they are excited about this new business venture
The shop will always feature three different chocolate cupcakes every week including mint chocolate, chocolate raspberry and regular chocolate. One of the most popular cupcakes so far has been the orange dreamsicle. A new flavor is added or featured every week just to change things up. The also feature mini apple and blue berry pies.
“A lot of people don’t want to buy a big pie, so it gives them just a little taste, ” said Ingram.
The shop takes custom orders for birthdays, parties, baby showers and Ingram says she has even had requests for Bunco parties. They request 24 hour notice if you plan to order 2 dozen or more.
The shop is open 11-5;00pm Tuesday through Friday and 9-3:00pm on Saturdays when they also bake home made cinnamon rolls.
Ingram says starting next week they will also feature home made bread.
“I like coming to wok and having fun,” said Ingram.
The shop is located at 809 Main St. and they can be reached at 249-7699.
