The National Weather Service in Reno has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for our area, warning residents to expect continued periods of moderate to heavy snow overnight and into Monday morning.
According to the advisory, here in the Honey Lake Valley we should see an additional 3 inches on the ground before 4:00a.m., Monday.
Winds will be gusting up to 40 miles an hour and we can expect slick and snow covered roads even in lower elevations through this evening. This includes Highway 395, 36, 44Â and 89.
Strong winds and snow may create near whiteout conditions at times.
Monday we should see mostly cloudy skies, some winds and highs in the upper 30’s.
