More snow is in the forecast this weekend according to experts at the National Weather Service’s Reno office. Lassen, eastern Plumas and eastern Sierra counties, including the city of Susanville, will all see additional snow between now and early Sunday morning.
Forecasters expect periods of snow tonight with accumulations of 1 to 3 inches, with localized amounts up to 6 inches above 5,000 feet west of Susanville. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 5:00 Sunday morning.
Even light snowfall causes major travel delays. Be sure to allow extra time to reach your destination. Leave extra space between vehicles since it takes longer to stop on slick roadways. The latest road conditions can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.
