The National Weather Service in Reno has issued an Urgent Winter Storm Advisory, warning residents to expect moderate to heavy snow, wind and dangerous winter conditions beginning this afternoon. The Winter Storm Warning will remain in effect until 10:00a.m. Thursday.
Periods of moderate to heavy snow are forecast, with total snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches along Highway 395 including Susanville, with 6 to 12 inches west of Highway 395 including Portola and near Lassen National Park. Wind gusts will be as strong as 35mph.
The heaviest snowfall rates will be between 4:00 and 10:00p.m. today.
Travel could be difficult. Plan for delays, possibly significant.
