The Lassen County Office of Education was honored to support the Lassen County 4-H Camp, held April 13th through the 15th, which welcomed youth ages 5–18 for a Spring Break of learning, leadership, and inspiration. This year’s camp theme, Inspire Tomorrow, set the stage for a memorable and impactful experience.
LCOE staff hosted two engaging workshops centered on leadership and communication. The morning began with “Word on the Street” style interviews featuring local leaders, who shared insights on their own leadership journeys and offered advice for future changemakers in video format.
Students then participated in leadership breakout sessions focused on effective communication and team collaboration – key skills for any aspiring leader.
In the afternoon, LCOE returned to host additional hands-on breakout activities and introduced keynote speaker Casey Lee.
Lee, a military veteran and current baseball coach for the U.S. Military WarDogs, shared how discovering his passion helped shape his leadership path. He spoke about the values and lessons gained from military service and how those principles continue to guide his coaching and educational goals.
“We were thrilled to be part of such an uplifting and well-organized event,” said Kaitlyn Midgley, Communications Specialist for LCOE. “It’s a privilege to help support and guide the next generation of leaders here in Lassen County.”
A huge thank you to Lassen County 4-H for inviting LCOE to participate in this incredible weekend. We look forward to continuing to inspire, support, and empower youth across the county.
