Oh what a gorgeous day for fishing! It was one of those perfect Susanville spring mornings that we all love so much, with kids and parents lining the banks of the Susan River from Hobo Camp on the west side of town all the way down to Riverside Drive and Highway 36.
I met people who had traveled here from Fresno, something they have done each year for twenty years, so that Grandpa could fish with the grandkids.
The fishing derby is a wonderful event for our community, unique in that it highlights the often overlooked wilderness that runs straight through the heart of town. We live in an amazing place.
