Photofeature: Community Easter Egg Hunt and Gold Egg Winners

The weather was perfect April 19th, and the Lassen County Fairgrounds were packed with kids and their families for the annual Community Easter Egg Hunt where local kids had a blast searching for nearly 20,000 colorful plastic, candy-filled eggs.

Buckets were overflowing with candy and an enjoyable time was had by all. Thanks to James Hall and Dandy the Smokeless Dragon for making an appearance and thank you to LCC Fire Science, Monte Keady, Sienna Greene and the Lassen College First Responders Club for all of their help.

It’s a big event which requires a lot of volunteer help. From the volunteers who showed up to stuff eggs with candy, to all the nice folks who showed up to help the Easter Bunny hide eggs Saturday morning, it was certainly a group effort by a lot of people.

Special mention, of course, should be made of Susanville’s Easter Bunny, Tina Jacobs. Also, thanks to Lassen County Fair Manager Bill Payer, Calliope Rose and the Junior Fair Board, without whom the event wouldn’t be possible.

Thanks to our volunteers from Lassen County 4-H, Susanville Future Farmers of America, LHS Drill Team, Junior Fair Board, Eskaton Lassen Manor, FBLA, Lassen High ASB, the Lassen County Fair staff, Calliope Rose, Lassen County royalty Julienne Bennett and Lily Ammon and several really nice families and individuals who showed up to help.
