Second grade students from McKinley School spent the morning at Susanville Ranch Park last Thursday learning about the great outdoors surrounding them here in Lassen County.
The McKinley field trip gave the students an opportunity to visit Bagwell Creek in the northeast corner of the park to hear about the animals, plants and bugs that share their environment.
Lassen County’s Federal Trapper George Alfonso taught students how to identify local animals by their tracks, Forest Service Entymologist Danny Cluck explained bug life, Tina Hilburn from the Lassen County Ag Department showed students just what is growing in Susanville Ranch Park while Theresa Pustejovsky from the Forest Service introduced them to what lives in Bagwell Creek.
