Printing Error Leads to Incorrect Information on LMUD Utility Bills

As a result of a software programming error, some Lassen Municipal Utility District customers may have received bills with incorrect billing information according to LMUD Public Relations Manager Theresa Phillips.

“LMUD bills sent out on September 25, 2023, may show an erroneous disconnect notice and an incorrect past-due amount,” explains Phillips.

“The payment stub and the back page of the bill were affected by the printing error, however, the information listed on the top half of the front page of the bill is correct.”

The error only affected the printing of the bills and will in no way impact a customer’s payment history with LMUD or overall credit with national credit reporting bureaus.

“Please be aware that if your account is past due, this error does not extend disconnection or payments due. If you need assistance meeting your electric bill, please reach out to us, we have several programs that may be able to help.”

As a reminder, LMUD asks that you make sure your contact information is up-to-date and that they have an active phone number on file. You can contact the LMUD office at 530-257-4174 with any questions or concerns you may have, or to update your account information.

“We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. The LMUD staff is working with our software provider to correct the error as quickly as possible.”
