The Susanville Rotary Club’s annual Senior Tour of Lights was held last Thursday, December 15th, giving participants a chance to ride around town in comfort, with a great view of light displays in local neighborhoods. The big, blue, Lassen Rural Bus, with 35 passengers aboard, spent two hours driving around the City of Susanville looking at various residential and commercial decorations.
Passengers, consisting of seniors, family members and representatives of the club and the co-sponsors, cast ballots for their favorite displays and according to organizer Jim Chapman there were some impressive ones!
The tour began at the Lassen County Fairgrounds and their Holiday of Lights display, covered the most well-decorated neighborhoods, and concluded with a trip out Richmond Road to view the large display at the home of John Wilcyznski.
This year the Rotary Club of Susanville (the Noon club), along with co-sponsors Lassen Municipal Utilities District, C&S Waste Solutions of Lassen County, and ParaTransit (the operators of Lassen Rural Bus), sponsored cash prizes in both residential and commercial categories. Here are the results:

3rd Place and a $50 cash award: Monte Vista Way, home of Dina Antonucci
People’s Choice and a $50 LMUD Energy Gift Card were awarded to the following:
