Second Annual Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Happens June 15th

The second annual Law Enforcement Torch Run for Northern California Special Olympics will take place June 15th, starting at the old courthouse on Lassen Street and ending on Riverside Drive at the new Hall of Justice.

The lead runners, carrying a torch, run, relay style, handing it off to different participants along the course.

Last year the runners were primarily members of local law enforcement, but this year they will also be including other running groups with a goal of raising $5,000 for the cause.

Also, during the month of June, Susanville ACE Hardware will be raising funds for the Law Enforcement Torch Run. Stop by all month long, make a purchase and ’round up’ your transaction to support the event and the group behind it. 100% of the funds raised will go to the Torch Run.

Opening ceremonies will begin at 7:00a.m., on the steps of the historic courthouse. Runners leave at 7:30 and everyone is encouraged to line the course to cheer them all on.
