The Susanville Chamber Music Festival’s second weekend of performances, featuring Three Fugues from the Well-Tempered Clavier by Bach, Beethoven’s Cello Sonata #3 and Schumann’s Piano Quintet, will begin this Saturday evening at 7:30 in the Methodist church on South Lassen street.
“The audience was in utter awe on Saturday night,” said Symphony Director Dana Hirsche about last week’s concert. “It was a flawless performance with professional but charming musicians playing classics from Brahms, Schumann, Schubert and Handel.”
The festival was conceived by Johnny Lenz, the Susanville Symphony’s principal cellist for over ten years, whose vision was to bring together some of the finest musicians he knew from across the globe to perform some of the greatest works in a chamber music repertoire.
Tickets are available at Margie’s Book Nook or by calling the symphony hotline at 310-8111. $5 Student or Senior tickets, $12 general admission and $20 package for both concerts.
