According to a release issued today by Lassen County Sheriff Dean Growdon authorities in Lake County have taken Janesville resident James Morais into custody.
A felony warrant was issued for Morais on December 1st, after Sheriff’s deputies responded to a residence on Lakecrest Drive in Janesville to assist the California Highway Patrol regarding the possible theft of an all-terrain vehicle. During the course of that investigation deputies found 25 pounds of processed marijuana and several firearms.
Morais fled the scene and has since remained at large.
According to Sheriff Growdon, Morais will be transported to the Lassen County Adult Detention Facility where he will be held to face charges.
