What is burning?
The North Complex consists of a group of lightning fires on the Plumas National Forest being managed as one incident. The complex of lightning fires were ignited during the lightning storm that moved over the area on the morning of August 17th.
The fires are located near Fleming Sheep Camp, to the southwest of Red Rock Lookout, in the northern Plumas National Forest.
The complex is currently comprised of 7 different fires. The three largest fires include the Sheep Fire, Fleming Fire, and Willard Fire. These three fires are burning in rugged, inaccessible terrain to the south of the Diamond Mountain ridge.
The remaining four fires in the complex have been contained at 6 acres or less.
