Two people were arrested in Westwood Saturday evening after a Lassen County Sheriff’s Deputy made a traffic stop on a silver Kia Sedona on Highway 36 near County Road A21 and found narcotics and a switchblade knife in the vehicle.
“Upon contacting the driver and two passengers, the deputy learned the driver, 31-year old Janesville resident Thomas Grimm, had an outstanding warrant for his arrest,” explains LCSO Lieutenant David Woginrich.
Grimm was also in possession of a switchblade knife.
“After placing Grimm under arrest the deputy conducted a search of the vehicle and located a large amount of suspected methamphetamine and a large amount of cash.”
After further investigation, the deputy arrested the passenger, identified by the LCSO as 35-year old Susanville resident Tommie Beard.
According to Woginrich, the deputy seized approximately 283.3 grams (9.9 ounces) of suspected methamphetamine and $2,075 in cash. The street value of the suspected methamphetamine is estimated to be over $8,000.
“Grimm was arrested for the outstanding warrant and Possession of a Switchblade Knife. His bail was set at $17,500. Beard was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance for Sale and Transportation of a Controlled Substance. Her bail was set at $27,500.”
