The Susanville Indian Rancheria honored four 2024 graduates at a special ceremony held last Thursday in the Willow Room at the Diamond Mountain Casino and Hotel, for friends, families, community and tribal leaders.
Speakers included Tribal Chairman Arian Hart, Interim Education Program Director Percy Tejada and Tribal Secretary/Treasurer Christi Choo.
Each graduate received a beautiful handmade stole and a special shadowbox commemorating their graduations.
Audie Noneo gave a short presentation on the traditions surrounding the eagle feathers given to each graduate, explaining that they are earned and must be valued and cherished.
This year’s graduates are Isabella Christine Aguilar, Zachary David Edeyaoch, Aaron Willis Miles and Jacob Ivan G Torres.
