On June 11th, after a jury trial in the Lassen County Hall of Justice, 43-year old Susanville resident William Michael Trujillo was convicted of one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm and six counts of possession of stolen property. The stolen property consisted of a variety of firearms.
The case was tried by Deputy District Attorney Don Brand.
According to Lassen County District Attorney Susan Rios, who announced the verdict, Trujillo was also found to have committed these felony offenses while he was out on bond for one or more other felony offenses.
Sentencing is scheduled for July 9th, and Trujillo faces up to eight years in state prison.
“We thank the jury for their time, attention and deliberation in this case,” Rios said in a statement following the jury’s decision.
The Susanville Police Department and the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation and successful prosecution of this matter.
