A 19-year old man, who was already wanted for two unrelated crimes here in Susanville, was arrested by Susanville Police Officers Friday morning after he allegedly stole a bike from a home on Pearl Circle.

Police officers received a call about the stolen bike shortly before 10:00a.m. and when they arrived the homeowner provided an excellent quality surveillance video.

“One of the responding officers immediately could identify the suspect seen on the video enter the attached garage then ride away on a bicycle,” explains SPD Captain Michael Bengoa-Bollinger.

The suspect is known to officers as Niko Anthony Robinson, with no known address.

“On this same date,” continues Bengoa-Bollinger, Lassen County Sheriff’s Deputy David Lee was in the area of Ash Street and Bunyan, near Mill View Apartments in Susanville when he observed Robinson on the side of the roadway.”

When the deputy attempted to make contact a short foot pursuit ensued, and Robinson eventually was taken into custody without further incident.

When arrested Robinson was found to be in possession of miscellaneous drug paraphernalia and a replica handgun.

Robinson was transported to the Lassen County Jail and booked for Burglary along with other charges for the foot pursuit.

“Two other cases were also submitted against Niko Robinson earlier in the week for his alleged involvement with stealing a local resident’s purse and the tip jar from Little Caesars Pizza.”

All these cases have been submitted to the Lassen County District Attorney for prosecution.

“The Susanville Police Department would like to thank the Sheriff’s Office for their assistance as well as the public with providing quality surveillance video.”
